Tacroz® Forte Ointment is manufactured by Glenmark. This is an immune response modifier used to relieve manifestations of inflammatory skin conditions including atopic dermatitis (AD) among others. Tacroz® Forte Ointment comprises Tacrolimus as an active ingredient. Tacrolimus is a сalcineurin inhibitor and immunosuppressive non-antibiotic macrolide. In topical administration, it is effective against certain autoimmune disorders due to its immunomodulatory, anti-pruritic, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Tacroz® Forte Ointment is used when treatment is not responsive to conventional therapy such as topical corticosteroids.

- moderate to severe atopic eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis);

- severe refractory uveitis after bone marrow transplants;

- Vitiligo.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Tacrolimus suppresses cell-mediated immune reactions. It acts by inhibiting the activation of lymphocytes (T-cells), main components of an immune response against the body's own proteins. Deactivating the lymphocytes, Tacrolimus suppresses the immune system and neutralizes inflammatory symptoms caused by abnormal immune reaction (itching, redness, swelling, etc.). Tacrolimus also suppresses inflammatory genes in immune cells.
