Description

Oflox® DT manufacturer is Cipla.

Oflox® DT disintegrating tablets contain active ingredient called Ofloxacin, a 2nd generation Fluoroquinolone.

Indications:

- urinary tract infections (bladder and kidney infections), including cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis;

MOA (mechanism of action):

By entering bacterial cells, Ofloxacin interferes with their DNA and destroys it. Furthermore, Ofloxacin prevents the bacteria from creating new genetic material. This ultimately results in death of microorganisms, which gets rid of the infection. Ofloxacin is active against aerobic gram-positive microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes); aerobic gram-negative microorganisms (Citrobacter koseri (Citrobacter diversus), Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa); other microorganisms (Chlamydia trachomatis).
